Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences

Methodological classes and Additional Classes

Methodological Classes to be selected (1700-SZD-ZJMTD), see point no II.7 of the Programme of Study – are obligatory in the amount of 30 hours up to the end of IV semester.
The person responsible for giving you a credit is a coordinator of discipline.
The coordinator can give you a credit after getting information you have passed the chosen classes. The source of such information may be a transcript of records downloaded from USOS or an e-mail confirming you have passed, sent from the lecturer who leads the classes (the form of confirmation depends on the coordinator’s preferences).

and Additional Classes for all PhD students, see point no. IV of the Programme of Studyare obligatory up to the end of VI semester (the amount of hours is different for particular disciplines, in accordance with the Programme of Study).

They are mainly specialisation and monographic lectures organised by different University faculties and sometimes by external institutions as well. They should be selected within the available classes (there is no dedicated list) together with the supervisor.

In most cases these classes are entered into the USOS system. Doctoral students enrol on the classes according to the rules of the faculties organising them. In many cases doctoral students are admitted to register themselves by using USOS system. If it is not possible, the only way to register is to apply. Applications must be submitted to the particular faculties and according to the rules set by them. They also should be signed before by the supervisor/the coordinator of the discipline. The Doctoral School cannot register students for classes organised by faculties.

In case of external classes the office of the Doctoral School can add them to the account of a doctoral student, but it is possible only after student has attended the classes and submitted an application to the director of the School confirmed by the supervisor and coordinator of the discipline.
