Heuristics – 15/01/2026 – a series of seminars of Doctoral Schools
Dear Doctoral Students,
Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences would like to invite you to Heuristics – a series of UW Doctoral School seminars at which doctoral students of our School will present their unique projects.
21st Century Chemistry – Science that creates the future
The seminar will consist of five presentations by young, distinguished researchers – PhD students from the University of Warsaw. Lectures will be presented by Paulina Gwardys, Patrycja Kościelniak, Olena Siamuk, Mateusz Pawlak and Jakub Piątkowski. The topics covered are wide-ranging. Each lecture contains elements of basic research, each of which also offers significant application potential. The lectures will be accompanied by short presentations by the supervisors: prof. Marcin Karbarz, dr Kamil Marcisz, dr Klaudia Kaniewska, prof. Paweł Kulesza, dr Iwona Rutkowska, prof. Wiktor Lewandowski, prof. Grzegorz Litwinienko, and dr Grzegorz Szczepaniak. Since the research activities of the Faculty of Chemistry are largely experimental in nature, this edition of Heuristics will also feature a demonstration of several spectacular chemical experiments, “A Small Spectacle of (Great) Chemistry,” performed by dr Joanna Szawkało, dr hab. Joanna Matraszek, dr hab. Joanna Wolska, dr Anna Zawadzka, and Andrei Zlobin, M.A.
When: 15.01.2026 (Thursday)
What time: 16:00
