Dear PhD students,

below we are publishing extra information about courses – a kind of supplement to the post regarding the Program of Study and its realization during the 1st year.

PRACTICE

Each PhD student is obliged to realize practice in the amount of hours required by the Programme of Study, specific for each discipline.
The practice realization starts on the 1st year, but it does not apply to the disciplines of biological and Earth and environmental sciences in case of which they begin from the 2nd year.
You all have been registered in USOS for a proper amount of hours by the School’s Office.
A person who is responsible for giving credits for the course is coordinator of practice and does it when a PhD student submits a filled and signed practice card form.

METHODICAL WORKSHOP (INDIVIDUAL AS A PART OF PRACTICE)

Methodical workshop goes together with practice and serves as a kind of proof that your practice was supervised.
A person who gives credits for the course is also coordinator of practice and for this purpose he/she needs a practice card form as well.
Just like in case of practice you all have been registered for methodical workshop by the School’s Office, exept from PhD students of biological and Earth and environmental sciences who start their practice on 2nd year.

RESEARCH SEMINAR I

According to the requirements of the Programme of Study each PhD student is obliged to realize 60hrs of seminars up to the end of the 2nd year by choosing classes at faculties
or in external institutions.
These 60hrs must be generally done till the end of the 2nd year, the Programme of Study does not suggest the specific amount of hours for each year and that is why you can divide
them quite flexibly, that is you can do 30hrs on the 1st year and another 30hrs on the 2nd year or you can decide to do 60hrs on the 1st/2nd year at once. Because of the individuality of choice
you can register for such amount of hours which you have really done during the academic year. In USOS you can choose between two courses:
Research Seminar I – 30hrs or Research Seminar I – 60hrs.
If you did only 30hrs during the 1st year, please choose the first option and following this rule, please register for the second option in case you did 60hrs. If you did not any seminars for now, please ignore the registration and remember to do it on the 2nd year with choosing only the option Research Seminar I – 60hrs then.
The course may be passed on conditions listed in the post 1st year – classes in the summer semester.
Credits for seminars are given by coordinators of seminars when PhD students deliver a proof of passing seminars at their faculties or an external seminar card (applying only to seminars realized in external institutions). Names of coordinators of seminars are published in a  separate post. The external seminar card is available in the section Documents.

REGISTRATION FOR RESEARCH SEMINAR I 30HRS/60HRS WILL BE OPEN FROM 1ST OF JUNE 2022 (00:00) TO 20TH of JUNE 2022 (23:59).
