RESEARCH SEMINAR I (60hrs by the end of the 2nd year)
Seminars should be chosen at your faculty or in an external institution. The choice of the seminar should be discussed with your supervisor. Seminars are not organised by the Doctoral School. You should register for them following the rules established at faculties (It it sometimes not possible to register via USOS). More info:
https://szkolydoktorskie.uw.edu.pl/en/research-seminars/?school=sdnsip
Using credits for seminars passed at the faculty or in an external institution, you should get also credits for the school’s course Research Seminar I. To get such credits, you should be registered for the course named as mentioned. While registering you have to choose an option of 30hrs or 60hrs which should correspond to the number of seminar hours done at the faculty or in an external institution. The course Research Seminar I is in fact an empty course which is only used to confirm the fact you got credits for a chosen seminar. A person responsible for giving credits for Research Seminar I is a proper coordinator of seminars. The names of coordinators for each discipline you can find under the the link above. To get credits from the coordinator, you have to provide him/her with transcript of records downloaded from your personal USOS account of with a external seminar card which is available on the school’s website (this option applies to external seminars without USOS code). As you can choose 30hrs or 60hrs of research seminar, there will be registration opened which is planned up to the end of the summer semester when you are still attending the chosen seminars or you have already passed them.
PRACTICE
Practice should be realised in the number of hours predicted by the Programme of Study (the number of hours may be different for each discipline and for each year of education). To get credits for practice, you should contact a proper practice coordinator whose name you can find here:
https://szkolydoktorskie.uw.edu.pl/en/doctoral-students-internships-coordinators-2/?school=sdnsip
Practice does not applies to the 1st year’s PhD students of the biological and Earth and environmental sciences who start their practice from the 2nd year.
