LERU Summer School
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT
The LERU (League of European Research Universities) Doctoral Summer School is a prestigious annual event aiming to provide doctoral candidates with unique professional and personal development opportunities beyond what they are generally exposed to in the course of their Ph.D. training. By creating an exceptional and truly international, intercultural and interdisciplinary meeting of bright young minds, the Summer School creates a highly stimulating learning experience of long-lasting value to the participants’ future careers. Participants are LERU university Ph.D. candidates who are selected on the basis of a university-wide competition.
This year, the 13th edition of the LERU Doctoral Summer School will be hosted by Universität Heidelberg on 2-8 July 2023, and its theme will be “Concepts of intervention science applied to global challenges“. The draft programme is in the attachment.
Everyone interested to apply to the LERU Summer School is invited to submit the documents (in English), including:
- First name
- Last name
- Female or male
- Affiliation
- Faculty/Department
- The title of PhD project with a short summary (no more than 1800 characters)
- CV
- Motivation letter containing the justification of the benefits that participation in the school will bring to your research and future career and the answer to the question of why you should be selected as a candidate of the University of Warsaw to apply to the LERU Doctoral Summer School.
Documents should be submitted electronically by March 19, 2023 (inclusive) to the address: szkola.nh@uw.edu.pl, necessarily with the annotation LERU.
From the registered candidates, one will then be selected to participate on behalf of the University of Warsaw. Applications will be evaluated by a three-person committee composed of members of the Scientific Council of the Doctoral School of Humanities, the name of the winner will be announced on March 29, 2023.
Universität Heidelberg is supporting the CE7 partnership by reserving spots for doctoral students at CE7 universities, kindly waiving the tuition fee (€ 600) for CE7 students (which includes course materials, ‘university dorms’ accommodation , meals at social occasions and a social programme), however participants will have to cover travel to and from Heidelberg, as well as any additional social activities undertaken.
