Open research and networking seminars for PhD students (20.01.2022)

Please be informed that next week Faculty of Political Science and International Studies will host two interesting research events dedicated for PhD students:

  • Prof. Richard Giulianotti(Loughborough University) will conduct a 90-minutes open research and networking seminar focused on the issues of methodology of social research and strategy of publication for young researchers. Prof. Giulianotti is a world widely renowned sport sociologist and expert in the methodology of social sciences. He has been serving as a visiting professor at many reputed universities across three continents, including Harvard University. The seminar will be staged on Thursday (January 20th, 2022) at 16:45-18:15 (4:45-6:15 PM) in room 314 (Gmach Audytoryjny on Main Campus – the headquarters of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies).
  • Dr Gary Armstrong(City University London) will conduct a 90-minutes open research and networking seminar focused on the issues of methodology of security studies and strategy of publication for young researchers. Dr Armstrong is a renowned interdisciplinary academic who merges anthropological, sociological and criminological approaches in researching security, crime and violence. His current research interest focuses on cultural aspects of crime in contemporary London and social aspects of the usage of CCTV for public safety. The seminar will be staged on Thursday (January 20th, 2022) at 15:00-16:30 (3:00-4:45 PM) in room 314 (Gmach Audytoryjny on Main Campus – the headquarters of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies).

Due to the COVID-related restrictions and for the sake of comfort of the seminar work, the number of participants is limited for both events. Please contact dr Seweryn Dmowski (seweryn.dmowski@uw.edu.pl) to confirm your participation.

Seminars are organized by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw and are offered within The University’s Integrated Development Programme (ZIP) co-financed by the European Union within the European Social Fund within PO WER 3.5. Each participant will receive a formal certificate of participation in the research seminar.
