Meeting topic: Family and fertility in the dynamically changing world of work
Anna Matysiak is a family demographer with a special interest in labour market research. Her main areas of expertise cover family and fertility dynamics and their interrelationships with labour market dynamics, gender relations, family and employment policies and quality of life. She obtained her PhD in Economics in 2009 and Habilitation in 2017, both from the Warsaw School of Economics. She was Assistant Professor at the Institute of Statistics and Demography at the Warsaw School of Economics (2009-2013) and Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Vienna Institute of Demography (2013-2019). Since November 2019 she has been working at the University of Warsaw (Faculty of Economic Sciences). She is also Deputy Editor at Demography (since mid-2017) and the PI of a recently awarded ERC Consolidator Grant “Globalization- and Technology-driven Labour Market Change and Fertility” (LABFER). For her research she was awarded numerous awards, including the Dirk J. van de Kaa Award for Social Demography from the European Association for Population Studies and the Award of the Polish National Science Centre for significant scientific achievements in the field of humanities, social sciences and art.
