LERU Doctoral Summer School is a cyclical event that focuses on providing doctoral students with the opportunity for professional and personal development that goes beyond the usual doctoral education. The participants of the school, who form an international and interdisciplinary environment, have the unique opportunity not only to exchange their own experiences but, thanks to the planned series of classes, to live an extremely stimulating educational experience.

Where: University of Utrecht;
When: 4 – 8 July 2022;

Topic: “The University of the Future. Rethinking the role of universities worldwide in the face of the challenges of the 21st century”;

Programme and detailed information [LINK];

Requirements:

– upload a CV in English;
– upload a cover letter in English;
– title of the research project (doctoral dissertation) with a short description, including information on the progress of work (no more than 1800 signs with spaces) in English;
– short analysis on the role of universities in the global scale and relevance to the research project in English (no more than 1500 signs with spaces)
– a strong motivation to think about the role of universities on a global scale;
– availability for the entire duration of the LERU;
– willingness to participate in all activities (there will be a mandatory online preparatory training before the start of LERU, on the afternoon of 29 June).

 

To be considered for recruitment, please submit the required documents in .pdf format by 28 February 2021 (inclusive), electronically, to szkola.ns@uw.edu.pl, necessarily with the title:

LERU – [name of PhD student].

Applications will be assessed by a four-member committee consisting of members of the Council of the Doctoral School of Social Sciences and the Doctoral Student Council, comprising:

– dr hab. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk,
– prof. dr hab. Jan J. Michałek,
– dr hab. Maciej Ślifirczyk,
– mgr Małgorzata Foryś- Basiejko.

The name of the winner will be announced by 23 March 2021.
